Genealogy Searches - Pedigree Charts - House Histories
The approach we take:
Every family has played its part in making history. We help you trace your family back to see how your ancestors fitted into the wider historical picture.
Research may not be easy or straightforward:
- information that has been passed down from earlier generations sometimes gets distorted
- if a surname is particularly common, finding the right family group can be difficult
However, we can ensure that your funds are spent in the way most likely to achieve a positive result.
The services we provide:
We offer a choice of two research programmes, Standard and Limited.
If you are not sure which programme to choose or whether research will be feasible, we are always happy to provide a free assessment before you start.
Let us help you uncover the secrets and history of your house. Whether it is a cottage or a mansion, we can help you to trace the history of your property.
When your family has been traced as far as possible, we can provide you with a professionally written biography of your family, using historical documents, maps and photographs to help bring the history of your family to life.
Descendant Tracing
Are you trying to trace distant relatives, or re-establish contact with other branches of the family? Our Standard Programme can be used to trace forwards in time as well as back.
Adoption Tracing
In England and Wales, a formal Register of Adoption has been kept since 1927. The Children's Act of 1975 allows an adopted person, if over 18, to apply for their original birth certificate. The certificate enables research to begin on tracing the birth family. In Scotland, adoption has been legally recognized since 1930. Information is supplied to the adopted person, if over 17.
If you would like confidential advice on the feasibility of adoption tracing please email us at enquiries@debrettancestry.co.uk.
Genealogy Pedigree Charts (Family Trees)
Our ancestry reports are accompanied by attractively presented A3 genealogy pedigree charts, which combine the information provided at the outset with what we have discovered. We can also create pedigree charts (A3 and A2) from your own information and can advise on the layout of complex family pedigrees. Click here to see a sample A3 pedigree chart page.
If you are interested in having a genealogy pedigree chart drawn up, please contact us at enquiries@debrettancestry.co.uk.
